A DIFFERENT KIND OF WARRIOR

Part of our goal at Osotuwa Foundation is to bring cross cultural understanding to students and groups in the United States.

Sharing about our culture, traditions, arts, and way of life, will bring understanding of who we are to the world.

The term “Maasai Warrior” might illicit images of fighting in battles, or commanding armies, but the Osotuwa Foundation wants to bring a wider understanding of what it means to be a Warrior in Maasailand.

Isaya Oleporuo is a Tanzanian Maasai Warrior, Chief, and the co-founder of the Osotuwa Foundation. Through photography, traditional dress, stories and dance, Isaya talks about Maasai history, culture, and traditions to bring a broader understanding of the term “warrior” as guardians and protectors. His interactive presentation shows what it means to be Maasai, their way of life, how the arts play an important part in the culture, and the roll of each community member, and how individuals contribution creates the larger society of the Maa (one person).

Isaya's talk can be tailored to meet your group’s interests or educational level, from elementary to university.

Truly a cross cultural educational experience, the proceeds from this educational course will go to fund the Foundation and support more girls within the village to go to school.

Teaching your students about the world of the Maasai, will bring education to the girls of Maasailand!
